January 19 Meeting Info.

Hi Everyone! I just realized that i did not make any updates to the blog or FB. Thanks for a great holiday meeting. It was fun and the food was great of course. Amber, the Hoagie dip was fabulous.


The discussion was very good. Great book Kaia.

Our next book is called A Reliable Wife by Robert Goolrick. It is available at the library. Our next meeting is January 19th at Penney's house. Nancy said that her house has difficult parking this time of year. I am choosing the next book.

December Meeting

Hi Ladies, another really fun book club and great discussion. Connor and I had a great time seeing everyone. Connie thanks for choosing a great book and hosting. Of course the food was always good.

Our December meeting will be December 15 at Kaia's house. We decided to do the same  thing we did last year. Everyone should bring a $10.00 gift and a book that you loved. It does not need to be a new book. Please wrap each gift separately. Since this will take a little longer we will start at 6pm. 

Our next book is called Extremely loud & incredibly close by: Jonathan Safran Foer.  The book is available at the library but here is a link if you want to buy it.



The recipe for the Buffalo Chicken Dip is:
2 8oz packages of cream cheese
1 cup Ranch Dressing
3 cooked chicken breasts
Franks Original red hot to taste. (i don't usually measure it)

Soften cream cheese in microwave and add ranch dressing. Mix with wire wisk until smooth. Add the hot sauce.

Serve warm.

New Book for November 2010

Hi Everyone,

For those of you who weren't able to attend last nights meeting, we missed you.

Good discussion on a really hard to read book.

Our next book is Crow Lake by Mary Lawson. Our next meeting will be at Connie's house. Our December meeting will be at Kaia's house.

At our next meeting please come with some ideas on what we should do for our December/Christmas meeting. Last year we did the book exchange and the dice game and it was a lot of fun.

October 2010 Book

Good Afternoon Ladies,

Thank you Kaia for all the wonderful food and drinks. It was so nice to see everyone and Connor and I had a great time.

I have heard that this is a pretty good book and it is available at the Library.

Our next meeting is: September 15th at Nancy's house. This will be our second anniversary, WOW we have been in book club for 2 years.

We will be choosing a date for Hope on the Water next year very soon. The first committee meeting will be sometime after the first of the year. Thank you to Kaia and Pat for all your hard work. I will let Kaia tell everyone the details on how much money was earned and all that stuff.

Our next book is: The Girl with the Dragon Tatoo by: Stieg Larsson (this is the first book in a trilogy of 3) The other two are: The Girl Who Played with Fire and The Girl Who Kicked the Hornets Nest

I am not sure I will be able to make next month's meeting, I will hopefully have a baby by then. I will miss everyone.

A few meetings ago we talked about building a school with Greg Mortenson, there was more discussion about this last night. Everyone thought that it was a great idea. I am sure that more emails will follow regarding the event that we were talking about in August.
